Embrace is a Christian development charity tackling poverty and injustice in the Middle East. They work with projects in both Israel and Palestine as well as other parts of the Middle East region.
In December 2021, Duncan Warmington, visited PBC and shared about the work Embrace does in Egypt, empowering women to through many local partnerships with Arkan, Refugee Egypt, Garbage City, Episcopal Care, Shams el Birr, Anafora and Bless. We had a compelling display of pictures and personal stories of women who were helped through this Christian initiative. It was encouraging to read about how they work for local charities, schools, hospitals and are involved in many different projects to bring care and support to the community. Previously in 2019, Neil Graham, former Regional Team Leader, came to PBC and shared about some of the work going on through Embrace's partner organisations in Lebanon and Gaza.
EXCITING NEWS! We are making plans to join with Embrace taking a group to the Holy Land or Egypt in 2024. The aim is to see more of their work first hand and to engage with our brothers and sisters in these challenging places.
There are many ways, in which individuals, can engage with Embrace the Middle East to continue their great work and to add your own personal contribution. You can join their Prayer Room, give an online donation, keep up to date with their advocacy work through their blog and social media, leave a legacy gift. Our most recent collection at PBC to support Embrace, was our special 2021 Christmas Offering, which raised significant funds to donate to this Christian cause. We ask God, our truly amazing Father to continuously bless our partnership with this charity and help us build generous, authentic and courageous Christian community, in the name of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit guide us always in the right direction!
