Church Leadership:
Purley Baptist Church believes in theocracy, that is to say that we want God to make the decisions in the Church, and lead us together. To facilitate this we have a Leadership team who have a special responsibility to prayerfully consider where God is leading us.
However, it is the responsibility of the whole Church to be listening to God, and at Church Meetings, each member can vote on issues. This allows God to speak to us through lots of people, and helps us to hear His voice and follow His lead better.
The Leadership Team are supported by the Departments, who have an important facilitative role.
Leadership
The Church is directed by the leadership team, in addition to this we have ministers with specific roles.

Rev Peter Nodding – Senior Minister
Our Senior Minister, Peter Nodding joined the team in September 2001. Peter has led Baptist churches at the Millmead Centre, Guildford and at West Bridgford, Nottingham. In both places several new congregations were planted. Peter trained for the ministry at St John’s College Nottingham, and previous to this was an Evangelist for several years with Cliff College in Derbyshire. Although not lacking in Baptist convictions he believes his life has been enriched by sharing deeply with other denominations. He has a wider ministry of teaching amongst leaders and churches and is particularly committed to the word of God, the Spirit of God and church unity.

Rev Pam Bryan – Associate Minister
Our Associate Minister, Pam Bryan, joined us in July 2000. She is single and, as a people person, loves nothing better than spending an evening with friends over a relaxed meal. Pam spent 4 years training ministers in a Bible College in the middle of the rain forest in Congo. She has also been involved in work in several other African countries and longs to see that continent at peace and prospering.
