Services at Purley Baptist Church
At Purley Baptist Church we celebrate a real diversity in worship. Each week there are different services to cater for different people. Whilst the styles may be different, all of our services have at their heart a desire to bring glory to God, to listen to Him, and to encourage each other as we live to serve Him.

Services
We have a wide variety of services catering for different people.

Morning Services
We normally have two morning family services at 9.30 and 11.15. There are Children’s groups at both of these services.

Evening Services
We have two evening services on most Sundays – the first at 6pm is called Evening Praise and the second at 7.30pm is called The Ministry (a youth-led service open to people of any age). Once a month there is a fifth service at 7.30pm in the Upper Hall, called The Upper Room offering more time to listen to God in His Word and through the prophetic.

Children’s & Youth Groups

At the 9.30 family service there are groups for everyone from Creche to School Year 5. At the 11.15 family service there are groups for all ages from Creche to School Year 10.

Special Services
We hold many special services throughout the year – and not just to celebrate Christmas, Easter or Harvest! The aim behind each event is to make our faith attractive and relevant to everyone, and visitors are particularly welcome to these special services. Each event will have its own publicity – so look out for what’s coming up soon!

In Communion we share bread and wine, just as Jesus did with his disciples in the Last Supper, shortly before he died. Jesus told us to do this as a way of remembering that he gave himself for us on the cross. Communion is normally celebrated on the first Sunday each month in the evening service, and every third Sunday in the month at both the morning services. All Christian people are welcome to share communion with us.
