Worship

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another,
as good stewards of God's varied grace'
-1 Peter 4:10
Gathered Worship
At Purley Baptist, we believe that gathered/corporate worship is important for meeting with the Lord, and we encourage one another in this as far as possible.
'the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD'-Psalm 102:22
'for where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them'-Matt 18:20
“Gathered worship excites me because it is just beautiful how it unites people. No matter who you are or where you've come from etc. we all stand and sing the same words, at the same time, in the same place, worshipping the same God. It's wonderful and uplifting!”-Meryl
The Worship Team
We currently have 47 worship team members whom are split into 7 bands. Generally, musicians are assigned to a particular band(s) to facilitate the growth of relationships within them. Between us, we play for the Sunday services, weekly services and any special events.
Quarterly Structure
| We run on a quarterly timeplan in which to organise things, as this simple chart shows: |
CD of Quarter 4, 2012 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Each 3-month Quarter has 4 main elements:
1. CD of the Quarter Every quarter, we introduce a commercials CD to our church to enrich personal and gathered worship. 2. The Hub This is an event to bring together all band members for a tiem of pray worship and practical activities such as leaning new songs and how to craft a song. 3. Enter away dates Musicians need to enter, into our online co-ordinating system, any dates in the forthcoming quarter on which they cannot play. 4. Release Rota Once the rota has been compiled, it is published to all band members to accept/decline any dates. Our online system also provides access to playlists to listen to songs in any key with the tabs and lyrics.
