Sunday Services

Worshippers on a Sunday morning

The services at Purley Baptist Church reflect the wide range of ages and tastes within our membership.

9.30am - Family Worship
Mix of traditional & contemporary worship style

11.15am - Family Worship
Contemporary worship style. Parade services for uniformed organisations take place eight times per year.

Children:
During both Family Worship services, we run activities for young people, children and creche for children under 18 months.

6.00pm - Digging Deeper
A service lasting about an hour, consisting of teaching or prayer, depending on the week.

7.15pm - Evening Worship
A service lasting about 90 minutes with a strong, vibrant, contemporary feel.

Communion In Communion we share bread and wine, just as Jesus did with his disciples at the Last Supper shortly before he died. Jesus told us to do this as a way of remembering that he gave himself up for us on the cross. Communion is normally celebrated on the first Sunday each month at both evening services, and every third Sunday at both the morning services.

Upper Room

On the second Sunday of most months we hold a more informal meeting (7.15pm in the Upper Hall) where we seek to be more sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit.
