More about us
When you’re new to a Church, especially a big one, it can all feel a little daunting! This page is to help you make sense of what’s going on here at Purley.
We like to invite all newcomers to a Newcomers’ Lunch and a settling in course. These are great opportunities to get to know other new people, meet some of the leadership and find out more about how we do things here. For those with questions about Christianity and Church, we also run a Christianity Explored Course; a safe place to take your questions and doubts and explore them with others in a relaxed setting. Children and Families: During our morning services, we run adult supervised sessions for children, involving games, craft and Bible teaching. More>
Teens: We run a thriving youth ministry. In fact, it’s so big and exciting, it has its very own website! More>
20’s/30’s: For those of us who are still young-ish , we meet in several mid-week homegroups. Once a month, we come together to worship and listen to teaching at a local Café. There’s also a growing women’s ministry, seeking to draw in and equip the younger women in the church. Contact associate pastor James Tetley to find out more.
Retired Folk: Every Tuesday, we hold a day time service, primarily for those who are retired, though anyone is welcome to attend. More>
Pastoral Support: Pastoral Support is primarily provided through our homegroups. These are small groups of people who meet together midweek to study the Bible, pray and get to know each other. In addition, we have a prayer team present during most services, and a team of volunteer pastoral visitors who are available to meet with anyone going through a particularly difficult time. Contact associate pastor James Tetley to find out more.
