The ACTS Course

One hundred hours in one year...  that's the commitment it takes when you join the ACTS Course.

A.C.T.S. - Antioch Christian Training School

In the bACTS logoook of Acts we read about the exciting church in Antioch. Not only was it strong in discipleship and prayer and very multicultural, but it birthed apostolic mission by being the first to catch the vision of a missionary church.

A number of church leaders in the South London area have come together to run the ACTS discipleship training course which aims to encourage personal holiness and to produce men and women of God who know their gifts, understand their calling and who go on to lead fruitful spiritual lives.

A module for leaders

New for 2011-12
During terms one and two we are introducing a new leadership module to run concurrently with the existing timetable.

Open to those already in a leadership position or aspiring to leadership, this module will focus specifically on leadership development and offer relevant help and insights from a team of leaders from other churches.

Honing your gifts
During the third term there will be opportunity to specialise and hone your main spiritual gift which will have been identified throughout the previous terms.  Those who have proven themselves in particular gifts like teaching, pastoral care, prophecy, evangelism, will be your trainers in a short module.

Teaching sessions will be led by participating church leaders as well as inspiring teachers and trainers from further afield.

Some of the subjects covered

Discipleship:
The devotional life – enabling and motivating your walk with God.

Prayer and spiritual warfare – providing a setting where you can deepen your abilities in corporate prayer and learn how to be strong in the Lord.

Development of Christian character
Learning to live a life that reveals more of the character of Jesus.

Discovery of spiritual gifts:
